Lessons learnt 2019 and Welcome 2020 

A The year 2019 has been a momentous year with many significant events- at business, national as well as global level. Generally speaking, here are the key lessons learned in 2019-

a. There is a growing realisation of the fact that organisations have to develop capabilities and processes to better understand the structural changes happening around them and better prepare themselves for the future. There are multitude of disruptions along the way of owing to the change in technologies and shifts in customer demands.

b.   We need to better understand the risks in business, especially the emerging and never-seen before kind of risks and develop risk management capabilities for the future.

c.   We need to invest for future growth- a priority for business existence and sustainability and finally,

d.   Bring about rapid cultural change to face up new business reality to avoid jerk reaction.

I visualise an ideal 2020 would include at least the following-

a.   More usage of technology for the ease of business operation and enabling transparency in transaction.

b. Wholesome development of business and society to ensure inclusive and positive social, Economic and environmental impacts.

c. Further promote startup ecosystem and encourage innovation to achieve sustainable development goals.

d. Bring about a massive change in education system encouraging innovation, technologies, start-up culture for developing future capabilities.

Together, as business and society, we can make a better and brighter 2020!
